The COVID-19 pandemic has brought along dire health, economic and social challenges. Our 'One Happy Island' - Aruba - is no exception.
I am writing to you to introduce CEDE Aruba and our
Which are making sure our community is being taken care of during these difficult times.
Since our island is highly dependent on the tourism industry, the majority of our citizens has been financially affected. Consequently, there are approximately 15,000 families, elders and children who will need support from our local food banks and meal programs.
CEDE Aruba, (The National Social Fund) has foreseen the impact COVID-19 would have on our community and launched 'Happy to Give Back' initiative back in April. This initiative is aimed at raising funds by reaching out to both local and international friends of Aruba and support the local food bank and meal programs.
75% of proceeds go to FPNC - The National Food Bank - to support families in need with foodpackages and other necessary support.
15% of proceeds go to Ban Uni Man Pa Cria Nos Muchanan Foundation - a school breakfast program to support children in need with a daily breakfast.
10% of the proceeds go to YMCA's meals-on-wheels program to support people who are not able to cook or without cooking equipment.
100% of all donations go to the cause. We have already rasied $300k and are well underway to meet our $1M goal. As a friend of Aruba. we amicably ask you to join the 'Happy to Give Back' initiative. How will you be able to give back? By reaching out to your network of international Aruba friends and convey the 'Happy to Give Back' message.
